Mailing list file server

The file retrieval feature of the majordomo mailing list software has
seen only sparse usage since the Sonic list's opening day in February.

Unless we get a lot of strong objections, the file retrieval function for
the Sonic list will be closing.

"But what about the files?"
They will still be there. You can retrieve them via ftp, which is what
most of you have been doing anyway.

"But I don't have ftp!"
You can still use ftpmail. I will post brief summaries on how to use
ftpmail.

"But now I have to RTFM all over again! And where is TnewFM?"
The new documentation will be out soon. And it won't be hard to get used
to the changes.

"Behind the scenes" changes will make it easier for me to maintain the
ftp'able file collection. This will pay off for you in terms of it being
easier for you to get up-to-date files. The new ftp server is a little
slower, but most of the files are not big enough for that to be a problem.

So let's get out there and knock some pods out of the sky!
