Kevin: I take it they played the "Today" version on TCN, right?
Edo: Well, I didn't hear them.
I don't ever recall Razor saying "This week on SWAT Kats" at all. The two
intros that I *do* know of him saying are "Today on SWAT Kats" on all but
one of season 1 episodes and all of season 2, except for the SKIQ episode;
and "3... 2... 1... Bingo! We're T-Bone and Razor..." on "The Pastmaster
Always Rings Twice."
Kevin: I know [the Turbokat] fires mini-bola missles,
Edo: "Mini-bola missiles"???
Bolas (sp?) are a weapon consisting of two balls attached to each other by
a cord. These were used, if I remember correctly, in "A Bright And Shiny
Future."
Edo: Does this mean that SWAT Kats is an anime?
Depends on how you define "anime." If it's simply being animated by a
Japanese studio, then the second-season SWAT Kats episodes more than
qualify since they were all animated by Mook. If, OTOH (see definition for
"OTOH" in the FAQ), "anime" refers to something animated entirely in Japan
and *initially* recorded in Japanese (such as Space Cruiser Yamato aka Star
Blazers and Macross aka Robotech), then the Kats are *not* "anime".
However, whether or not the Kats would be considered "anime," they are at
least "anime-influenced," which means just what it says. The Kats
episodes, especially second-season, contain elements that you'd typically
find in anime, such as the 360-degree camera pan when Razor suits up and
the scenery rushing by at a high-speed blur (cf. "A Bright and Shiny
Future").
BTW, the summary for "A Bright and Shiny Future" can be found on rat.org
(which should hopefully explain why the episode was titled the way it was).
Louallen: What does ListAdmin. do anyways? Please fill me in on this...
Well, for lack of a better term, the "Listadmin" keeps an eye on the
postings to the list and tries to keep some order to the list (something
like what the Enforcers and SWAT Kats do to Megakat City). It's almost
like being the list moderator, except that this list is NOT moderated
(moderated lists require that EVERYTHING sent to the list be approved by
the moderator before posted).
BTW, I noticed a posting in the last digest that should have gone to the
TMNT mailing list and not the Kats list. Please, I implore you... be
*sure* your mail is intended for the Kats list before you send it out!
Also, if you're going to be replying to demographics polls, try to reply to
the sender directly (double-check the To: line in your outgoing email
message). There's really no point in wasting bandwidth by replying to the
whole list.
Brother Buford: I firmly believe that [Dr. Zyme] was killed in "The
Giant Bacteria."
That's an affirmative. I think chance mentioned this some time ago (not
sure if it was just to me or to the list, though).
