Re: kats V1 #226

Edo: I always wanted to know if the kats do their sunbathing activity
   regulary or not.

Probably. Megakat State Beach seems to be fairly popular, especially
during the summer. And tho I'm somewhat biased since I live in L.A., I'd
say Megakat State Beach is based on the beach at Santa Monica or even that
further up the coast, near Malibu (when you go along the Pacific Coast
Highway heading north from L.A.). If you're completely lost, check a map
of the U.S. <grin>

Another question for the peanut gallery: what state is Megakat City part
of, anyway? (Kinda hard to have a "state beach" if the city isn't at least
part of a state, eh?)

Of course it's the pilot that make the plane fly and not the plane
   that make the pilot fly.

Heh. This reminds me of a piece of dialogue between T-Bone and Razor
(from, if memory serves me correctly, "The Ghost Pilot"):

Razor: Don't forget you had some high-tech help with the Turbokat!
T-Bone: Razor, it's the *pilot*, not the plane...

Me: I noticed a posting in the last digest that should have gone to the
TMNT mailing list and not the Kats list. Please, I implore you... be
*sure* your mail is intended for the Kats list before you send it out!
Kevin: I was asking if some SK's music was also used on TMNT, and
someone replied. It was on-topic, but it's easy to see how it might
   not have looked that way.

OK, I stand corrected. (Yes, Razor is prone to making mistakes... d'oh!)

Edo: How about if an animations that has those "anime" features, is it
   an anime or not?

I do not consider that anime. However, I *do* consider it to be
"anime-influenced." See my last posting to the list if you don't remember
what I meant by that.

In my latest version of the SK FAQ, the word WRT isn't in it.

I'll have to go back and check the FAQ, but I was positive that the last
updated FAQ (with its abbreviations) had "WRT" was in there because I use
it all the time. And why isn't the FAQ updated, you might ask? Because
I'm waiting for an answer from Kevin, who in turn is waiting from chance,
so... ;-)

But why it was called "Bright and Shiny Future" by the people on
   this list?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean here. I think the query is "A Bright
and Shiny Future" versus "Bright and Shiny Future," but I could be wrong.

Generally speaking, at least as far as the list is concerned, partial name
titles are fine, as long as you provide enough of the title to clue people
in. Occasionally I'll abbreviate a title with the first few words followed
by an ellipsis (such as "Night Of..." for Night Of The Dark Kat).

Michael: What cats _do_ is bask in the sun just to feel good. Kats
would probably do the same thing.

I read somewhere that "anything that gives off heat attracts cats."
Y'know, that'd be funny if Mayor Manx were to give a speech and felines
were around him (hot air ;-).

chance: I was last in a broadcast center, but the toons are normally
shot on 35mm ECNII filmstock and then transferred to, I think,
   1" videotape.

I took the liberty of forwarding that piece of email (with the above
comment) to a couple of animator friends to see if they have any input.
And don't worry, these guys are Kat fans, sort of (Doc Konway knows who
these guys are ;-). One of 'em did a sketch for me that I found amusing.
In it, Razor is in front of Hanna-Barbera with his helmet off and to the
side, turned upside down. To his left is a large sign that says "WILL WORK
FOR FOOD," and there's some money that has been thrown in his helmet. It's
a reference to Razor having been fired from H-B (d'oh!) as well as my own
jobhunt.
