Sonic Inconsistancies (Was: Mecha Sonic?)

You know... this is one of the things I've always liked about the whole
concept of Sonic the Hedgehog. Each person 'telling the tale of Sonic
vs Robotnik' seems to tell it in a different way. Let's see... so far
there have been:
  * Story provided in the games
  * Archie Comics version
  * European Fleetway Comics version
  * Saturday AM TV Series
  * Syndicated Weekday TV Series
  * Those mini-books (I forget the publisher's name)
NONE of these are fully consistant with any other (some aren't entirely
self-consistant either). And that's not including the fanfic stories.

This is a lot like the old oral storytelling tradition. This isn't
something you see often these days.
