The correct posting address is sonic_at_lists.mv.net.  This isn't a 
technical list, so suffice it to say bort is the server that sends list

It does.  If you look at the header of a list message, you'll see that 
the sender's address is in the From: field and the list's address is in 
the Reply To: field.  Many mail programs will (or can be configured to) 
ask you which address you want your reply to go to.  Use of a signature 
is still a good idea because the sender's address can get mangled by 
gateways, etc.
