(PC game) ftp announcement

I found a game that some of you might like. I have uploaded it to the
ftp site (ftp.mv.com) at /pub/users/rat/pc. You must have a PC and at
least EGA to play.

The game is called Animal Quest. You choose which animal you want to be.
Then you have to make it through to end of the forest while catching your
prey and avoiding those who would prey upon you. Predators include your
natural enemies plus a man with a gun. You can choose to be a fox (but
with only one tail), a wolf, a rabbit, a mouse, a porcupine (no
hedgehogs), a squirrel, and one or two others. You also gain points for
eating fruits and plants your species naturally eats.

I've never made it all the way across without getting caught several
times. For some reason, I seem to do better as a wolf than as a fox.

Requires EGA, VGA, or SVGA. Fully OS/2 compatible and may be compatible
with some versions of SoftPC. You must register to get sound card
support, mouse support, and additional animals (including deep sea and
jungle species). No joystick support at all.

I downloaded this game from Delphi about a week ago. If you are on
Delphi, you may find it faster to download the game from the PC SIG (GO
MAIN COMP PC) than to ftp it.

This announcement is, at best, barely on-topic for this list, so please
send any replies directly to my address. I will post a summary if there
are some particularly interesting comments. I won't be doing
announcements like this often, but I thought this game was worth a mention.
