Also, the Chaos Emeralds from Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles were in the
shape of doedecahedrons. (12 pentagonal sides) This is probably how they
originally envisioned them, but their graphics werent as good in the
earlier versions of the game. The 3-d graphics of the latest Sonic's
special stages allowed them to render the emerald as polyheadral.
