Wow! I never thought that BS&P concerns would actually *improve* a script.
Stealing the water was a *much* better idea. Lots more visual interest-
revealing shipwrecks, stranding ships and surfers, making those big twisty
columns of water. Running out of air would have not been nearly as interesting.
Are there copies of the scripts that *were* made? Reading the few that were
at the MaxiMall was very enlightening. Comments like 'as big an explosion as
we're politically comfortable with' and all that, plus the directions to the
storyboarders and animators- just great!

On another subject:

YEAH!!!! I really hate that, and it shows up in some anime, too! It's a bit
like the 'guy from brooklyn' syndrome in the 50's and 60's SF movies. Let's
see- we're planning an expedition to Mars- we want to take... a pilot, ...a
geologist, ...a doctor, ...a mountain-climber explorer-type, and.... A guy
from Brooklyn with no particular skills whatsoever! After all, who will make
the idiotic comments and ask the scientists what's going on, if we don't
have a guy from Brooklyn!
I can understand that series writers may think they need some way to provide
lighter moments in a script, but it seems to be much better done with
interactions between the main characters that tell us something- like the
wonderful chili pepper eating contest- complete with it's own theme music,
or Chance ruining the TV when he sees something he doesn't like.

Felina would have to be older than 20, I think. I would guess that she
learned combat skills and how to fly in the military. If she had applied to
join the Enforcers without any previous experience, her uncle could have
kept her out. If she already was a hot-shot, it would be harder to come up
with excuses. Hmmm. Tortie *does* have an appointment to visit Felina after
she's done paying her dues at the MegaKat Psychic Fair- maybe she can ask
Felina about it.
