Chaos

Greetings:

I'm starting to do research for a Sonic apocalypse story (i.e., how
Robotnik is defeated once and for all and everything is put right). I
find, however, that I'd like as much information as possible on the
Chaos Emeralds and any other Chaos elements in the Sonic story
(...before I go about making up my own ;-) ). I know the Chaos
Emeralds figured in the original miniseries but I don't know how. I
need info on size, properties, origin...in short, ANYTHING!
