I noticed that too.. Hooking up the batteries in such a way won't make them
explode, it's the hydrogen gas that escapes in the charging process that can
ignite if a spark is nearby.  This is the reason for putting the + on the
battery & the - on a grounding point in the car to be jumped.

Ya know, I've _never_ known a car to go racing out of control after "super"
charging the battery like Chance did from the pickup..  And it certainly
wasn't an electric car!
