It is perfectly reasonable to assume that kats, like any other creature, 
will suffer from parasites, particular in that forest of fur.  It is 
also logical to assume that they will have everyday methods to control
such parasites, even as we ourselves use dandruff shampoo and the like.

Now, no further speculation.  Are there any actual references to fleas
in the series?
