Not that the technology did them a heck of a lot of good. After all, it
wasn't the AMOUNT of memory that gave the game away, but WHAT WAS
MEMORIZED. They didn't sweat the details (the hand jive, the
story-telling technique), thus sowing the seeds of the plan's
destruction.

Or am I taking this too seriously?
