Let's not forget that this is a TV show that we're talking about, and even
if it weren't, there would be much objection.  Societies have rules for
reasons of social order too.  Besides, another thing to consider is that
cats were originally desert animals, and even today, in their often
subarctic domesticated world, cats still prefer hot temperatures, as much as
40c.
