well, if you had fur, would you wear a jacket? :)

   If you had fur, would you even bother to wear clothes? I got the
impression that antropomorphic mammals who bother to wear clothes have
developed a much lighter coat of fur than their ancestors (much like us
losing our ape fur--but we just went a step further from them).
